Call
for Nominations
Executive Secretery
American Society of Church History
June 1, 2008
The American Society of Church History is seeking nominations for Executive
Secretary to succeed Ken Minkema, who will complete his term of service in January
2009. The five-year term is part-time (about 15 hours/week), with annual
compensation of $18,000. The office budget also allows for the hiring of a part-time
assistant or consultants as needed. The Executive Secretary must be a current ASCH
member. The successful candidate should be a recognized scholar in one of the fields
of Christian history and should hold a position that allows for this form of
professional commitment. The full job description is attached.
Nominations, including self-nominations, should be sent to Dr. Steven L. Olsen,
Chair of the Search Committee, at olsensl@ldschurch.org or 661 East Ridge Drive, Heber City, UT 84032. Applications should include a current academic c.v. and a letter
summarizing the candidate's (1) ability to serve, including the support of his/her
institution and (2) experience with managing organizations, budgets, and websites,
and (3) knowledge of academic publishing. The Search Committee will begin review of applications on September 1, 2008. The nominee will be named in November and
presented for final approval to the full ASCH membership at its annual meeting in
January 2009.
Respectfully yours,
