Position: Asbury University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of History to begin in August 2026 or January 2027. The Department of Social Science and History invites applicants with expertise in global history to apply. Consideration also given to applicants with training in digital humanities or public history. Responsibilities: Teach twenty-four credit hours (introductory and upper-level courses) in an academic year, primarily in face-to-face but occasionally in online modalities; contribute scholarship in their field; advise students in the history majors; and serve on assigned department and university committees. Requirements: Completed or near-completed Ph.D., commitment to undergraduate liberal arts learning, interdisciplinary collegiality, scholarly productivity, Christian faith, and pedagogical approaches that increase representation of marginalized historical voices. A committed Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the University’s theological position, lifestyle standards, and mission.
